The production capacity of the Darquin field has increased by more than 9,000 barrels per day with the completion of Well No. 11 by PECO. According to the Public Relations Department of PECO, since the beginning of the EPCDS project for workover and the drilling of four wells in the Darquin field, commissioned by the Arvandan Oil and Gas Company, two production wells and one water disposal well have been successfully put into operation, significantly contributing to the field's production capacity. Well No. 11 of Darquin, the third well in this package, underwent operations that included removing the old completion string, window opening at an approximate depth of 4,116 meters, drilling a sidetrack hole, and reaching to production in the Fahlyan reservoir (Layer 3). These operations were successfully completed in November 2024 by PECO’s project team. Upon completion, a total of 9,000 barrels per day were added to the field’s production. Notably, this well had been out of operation since May 2018 due to high water production. Well No. 11 is the third in the four-well workover and completion package for the Darquin field, handed over to the project client following the EPCDS drilling and completion operations. The Darquin oil field is located 45 kilometers north of Khorramshahr and 85 kilometers south and southwest of Ahvaz.
