According to Pezhvak’s PR report, this well was successfully drilled, repaired and completed with the expertise of this company’s specialists and engineering personnel.
Hakimi, Darkhowain’s project manager, while marking the end of operations stated that “more than 8 years had passed since the production stop in this well due to the blockage in completion string caused by asphaltene and the collapse of the tubing. With the efforts of the specialists at Pezhvak and the supervision and guidance of the respected team of the employer in Arvandan Oil and Gas Company, the operation of removing the old completion string, window opening from a depth of about 3,600 meters and sidetrack drillling (2 holes) were carried out and the well in Fahlian reservoir (layer 3) was brought into production. As a result, 3 thousand barrels per day were added to the production capacity of Darkhowain field.
Hakimi also pointed out to the very high temperature of the field causing some tools and equipment to not work properly, drilling of two layers of high pressure (High Gadowan) and low pressure (Darian) in a single hole and the removal of the old completion string collapsed and blocked with asphaltene, as some of the challenges faced in this project.
Darkhowain oil field in located 45 kilometers north of Khoramshahr and 85 kilometers south and south-west of Ahwaz. This well is the second of four wells in the repair and completion package in Darkhowain oil field which was drilled, repaired and completed for Arvandan oil and gas company through the EPCDS contract.
