PECO Petroleum Engineering Team to Present Acidizing Case Study at ADIPEC 2025
Saturday، 19 July 2025 |
The Petroleum Engineering Team of PECO (Pezhvak Energy Engineering Services Co.) will present the paper “Successful Design and Execution of Dual Leg Selective and Matrix Acidizing Using Open Hole Inflatable Packer for the First Time in a Horizontal Carbonate Well: A Case Study” (SPE-229918-MS) at ADIPEC 2025, under the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE, onepetro.com). This work was carried out by PECO’s Petroleum Engineering Team engineers Ashkan Salimi , Ali Z. , and Mohammad mahdi Roshani.
The study addresses the challenge of effective acid stimulation in dual-leg open-hole horizontal wells in tight carbonate reservoirs. In the Sepehr-Jufair oil field (Ilam Formation, southwest Iran), the team applied coiled tubing-deployed inflatable packer, advanced matrix acidizing simulations, and detailed force and hydraulic modeling to achieve precise leg-by-leg acid placement. This marks the first successful selective and matrix acidizing treatment in an Ilam dual-leg horizontal well.
Pezhvak Energy continues to demonstrate its technical leadership and commitment to delivering advanced engineering solutions for the most challenging well environments.
