Pezhvak Energy — Pioneer in Initiating Oil Production from the Complicated Changuleh Oil Field

The workover, testing, and completion operations of well CG-W01 in the complex Changuleh Field were successfully executed in August 2025 by the specialists of Pezhvak Energy Engineering Services Company. Production test estimates indicate a notable production potential for this well, the official figures of which will be announced by the client, Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC).
This well, originally drilled in 2006 as an exploration well, had been suspended following acquisition of reservoir logs and an initial well test, with bridge plugs and cement plugs set in place.
During the workover operations, Pezhvak Energy first conducted wellsite safety measures and replaced the wellhead equipment. The bridge plugs and cement plugs were then milled out, followed by a dry liner-top test to evaluate liner integrity. Subsequently, a high-risk mechanical cleaning operation was carried out on the 3-1/2 inch production liner.
A drill stem test (DST) was performed in the Sarvak reservoir to assess reservoir pressure and production rate. Upon confirming favorable reservoir conditions, a completion string rated for 10,000 psi working pressure was run into the well. Finally, the well was successfully brought onstream and handed over to the production department.
This project represents the first well of the EPDS package, comprising two workover wells in the Changuleh Field, commissioned by PEDEC and executed by Pezhvak Energy Engineering Services Company
