Sepehr-Jufair oil field development project managed to register a record of 793 consecutive working days without incident leading to Lost Time Injury (LTI) by March 13, 2023.
According to the public relations report of Pezhvak Energy Engineering Services Company (PECO), conforming to compliance and attention to health, safety, and environment requirements and guidelines, and promoting the Company's HSE culture, in the Sepehr-Jufair oil field development project, while deploying four drilling rigs provided by three different contractors, and carrying out 13 onshore drilling rig moving operations and 16 Rig Up/Down operations, PECO succeeded in achieving a record of 793 accident free working days, 1422 operational Rig Days and 2,545,084 man-hours without incidents resulting in LTI.
Also, Sepehr-Jufair project has a remarkable number of active contractors in various fields of rig services, drilling fluid, cementing, well testing and well flow services.
The registered record is incomparable to that of other active contractors and it has been achieved while the project client supervises and seriously emphasizes compliance with the HSE principles of the project.
According to the report, the following factors play an important role in reducing accidents and improving the HSE Indicator:
- Operational supervision and monitoring contractor's executive activities in operational and work areas of the project
- compilation of Safe systems of work (SSOW) instructions for high-risk activities
- Strengthening the HSE team in the operational areas
- Preparation of emergency response in operational areas and holding Drills according to the Drill calendar of H2S, BOP, MED-EVAC, Fire Fighting
- Conducting random and regular inspections in operational areas, manufactories and drilling machines, and preparing an Action Plan in order to take corrective measures.
- Establishing the safety control systems such as PTW, PECO Card (Protect Everyone via Collaborative Observation), risk assessment and the Material Safety Data Sheet training (MSDS)
- Identifying, eliminating or reducing the risks and hazards in “As low as reasonably practicable (ALARP)” level
- Comply with and implement operational controls and legal requirements in accordance with the Statement and contractual agreements of the project client
- conducting the safety training courses in accordance with the guidelines for professional qualification of drilling industry personnel
- Safety monitoring of internal and external well operations such as WELL TESTING, FBDST, DST STIMULATION, Well logging
- Implementing the corrective actions based on the previous incidents
- Continuous inspection and monitoring of safety, health and environmental conditions on drilling rigs, workshops, offices and kitchens
Sepehr-Jufair oil field development project is one of the projects of Oil Engineering and Development Company, in which the implementation was assigned under a contract in June 2020, and PECO as the contracting company in this project, is responsible for engineering, procurement, Drilling operations, and commissioning of six wells in Sepehr-Jufair oil fields as EPDS. To date, 5 wells have been completed and the sixth well is in progress.
