The fastest drilling record among all the wells drilled in the Sepehr-Jufair fields was achieved by the PECO Engineers.
According to PECO's public relations report, along with a twofold increase in the number of active rigs (a total of four rigs) undergoing simultaneous drilling processes, the best drilling time record has been set for PECO in the Sepehr-Jufair project.
Improving drilling efficiency and setting a new drilling record have taken place alongside a growth of 4.7 times in the drilling footage; from 5854 meters in February 2022 to an impressive 27507 meters in February 2023.
Prior to this record, the best record belonged to another active contracting company with 126.6 days in well No.05 of the Sepehr oil field (up to the end of the 8.5-inch hole section). However, with consistent supervision and support from PECO, 25 Iranian contracting companies have now surpassed that record by setting a new milestone of 113.8 days in well No.08 of the same field.
It is worth mentioning that this achievement has resulted in significant progress in the physical progress of the project. In February 2023, the physical progress of the project reached 87.16%, from 37.8% in February 2022, and has increased by an average of 3.8% per month.
Managing services and drilling operations while running four wells simultaneously requires meticulous planning, robust support, and adequate financial ability, and PECO has successfully set the new record in a short period of time by utilizing a team of young and experienced experts.
Additionally, in this project, an innovative action was taken based on the engineering knowledge of PECO experts, suggesting a change in the composition of Completion Fluid. This modification has successfully mitigated the risk of delays and inadequacy in the supply of liquid Calcium Bromide while still meeting the desired specifications of the client. As a result, significant cost savings have been achieved for the Sepehr-Jufair oil field Completion Fluid.
Furthermore, in the Sepehr-Jufair oil field development project, our team has diligently adhered to compliance, safety, health, and environmental requirements and guidelines while actively promoting the culture of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) within the organization. As a result, they have achieved a remarkable record of 793 consecutive days without any work accidents, 1422 operation Rig Days without incidents, and 2,545,084 person-hours without any incidents leading to lost time injuries (LTI).
The Sepehr-Jufair contract includes engineering services, procurement, and drilling operations of six wells in the Sepehr-Jufair oil fields. The contract is structured in the form of an Engineering, Procurement, Drilling, and Services (EPDS) arrangement, with Pasargad Engineering and Oil Development and Exploration and Production serving as the client. Currently, drilling of all six wells has been completed, with four of them ready for exploitation and two of them in the final stage.
