Drilling operations for the second well at the Sepehr-Jufair oil field officially commenced on June 4, 2024.
According to the public relations department of PECO, drilling of 4 new wells and repair and completion of the existing 3 wells are all a part of the 2nd package of EPDS for the purpose of developing Ilam reservoir. In the 1st package of EPDS, 6 new wells were successfully completed with the aim of developing Fahlian reservoir.
This project’s main owner is Petroleum Engineering and Development Company entrusting the project’s implementation to PECO in form of IPC contract. PECO as one of EPD contractors, was selected through a tender for drilling operation of these wells.
One well was completed last year, and current estimates suggest that each new well will take approximately 155 days to drill. The wells are planned to reach a directional depth of 4,200 meters.
