Pezhvak Energy Engineering Services Company (PECO) proudly announce that first triple casing perforation operation in IRAN and rarely performed worldwide has been done successfully.
An abandoned well in Darquain Field was identified for triple casing perforation opportunity to be changed to a water disposal well.
Nodal analysis evaluation study based on sandstone reservoir parameters (permeability, saturation, reservoir thickness, etc.) suggested injectivities can be gained by executing these opportunities.
The main issue in executing the perforation job was that the proposed perforation intervals are covered by 3 barriers which are the casing 7” P110, 9 5/8” P110 and 13 3/8” N80 casing. Technical simulations were performed to verify the integrity of the well, when shooting in multiple casings. Perforation simulation with different scenarios (cement behind casing, without cement, etc.) has been also performed to assess the real condition. These tests were done to select the proper gun type, size and phasing (shot density) due to the limitation and risks.
Although most of perforation interval was through triple casings and cement, but very good results were achieved, where fluid injectivity gained by about 12,000 bpd after shooting and Well integrity in all three-casing annulus is established. Also, no pressure hydraulic connectivity from below cement plug and/or behind 7” in casing (from reservoir) was observed.
More than twelve days and related costs (rig and services) has been saved in comparison with contingency plan which was opening a new window and re-entry in this depth.
